In coastal and mountainous regions, wind resources are abundant. Monitoring gradient wind helps researchers understand how wind speed changes with height. This data is crucial for weather prediction, rainfall modeling, and wind energy development. The FRT DT50 data logger plays a key role by recording accurate wind data from different levels. Fast and Flexible Data Collection
The FRT DT50 collects data such as wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, air pressure, and rainfall. It samples wind speed every second and calculates the 10-minute average automatically. The device also supports hourly wind speed calculation, using the 10-minute averages. Wind direction is sampled at the same time as wind speed. Environmental data, such as temperature (°C), humidity (%RH), and pressure (kPa), is recorded every 10 minutes.
Users can set flexible upload intervals, such as hourly or daily. Data can be sent via wired connection or wireless networks based on site conditions.
Efficient Storage and Secure Transmission
The logger includes 256MB of internal memory and supports up to 8GB of external SD storage. It stores five years of continuous data. Even if the signal is lost, it saves the data locally and transmits it once the network reconnects. This ensures no data is lost.
It maintains over 90% data integrity during long-term use. Automatic uploads to user-defined mailboxes (1–3) are supported. Users can also download the full dataset regularly for local analysis.
